Attendance: Ruth Rosenberg-Naparsteck, Tanya Schueler, Debra Framm Faria, Shae Hanford, Jack Schottmiller, Paul Caccamise, Jean Shafer, Bill Fulton, Barbara LeSavoy, Jed Metzger, Cork Young, Joe Gersitz,

The meeting was opened at 7 p.m. by President Paul Caccamise. Paul reported on his trip to Novgorod for the Anniversary celebration.

Walter is recuperating at home from a mild heart condition.

The September minutes were approved. Jean Shafer attended the meeting as a guest.

Howard Spindler is no longer a Linkages Board member due to other commitments. More members are needed, particularly at least one young person. Joe suggested that committee duties include identifying prospective members. Barbara suggested that colleges be tapped.

The fall program was discussed. Photographs may go to the Fairport Baptist Home. Paul would like a program in the fall on the 1150th trip.

The trip to Jordanville photographs were passed around. Tanya spoke of the guest house there.

Jack, Joe and Jed reported on the Open World delegation. They are working on the itinerary for the guests. Joe will be scheduling another planning meeting. Debra, Paul and Jack discussed the visit of five people from Novgorod to trauma intervention at St Joseph’s Villa and a partner violence program.

The delegation will visit Niagara Falls on the 21st. There was a discussion of Board member host families and shuttle drivers to the airport, etc.

Barb reported that she will write again to Galina and Asya and will mention the committee issues with lack of communication and follow through.

There was discussion of the leadership of the Women’s Issues Partnerhsip at the Russia end. The January program at Eastman almost certain for Kilbourn Hall on January 7.

There will be a photo exhibit at the reception and new members will be recruited.

The newsletter is being prepared. The deadline is November 1. Should there be two newsletters: one regular news and the other a fundraiser? Discussed a teaching seminar, the tour of the monastery in Jordanville and a possible program in January.

It was decided that two symposiums on family counseling at the same time could not be afforded.

Jed reported that one of the students received the Student of the Year Award because of her work on her Russia trip.
